Continually challenging my abilities keeps me engaged, some would say obsessed, with my training. Focusing on practicing a particular movement, skill, or speed drill for several weeks is a great way to develop athletically. This is where the challenge comes in. I am challenging you to go out and practice these movements. They will benefit your strength, speed, and muscular endurance.
After you have the challenge down, you can show your buddies and act surprised when they can’t come close to matching your ability, if you want.
The first challenge is the L-Sit.
The L-Sit is a fundamental gymnastics hold. It can be done on parellettes, hanging, or the floor. The floor is the most challenging.
If you cannot complete a full L-Sit from the get-go, start off with a progression of the full movement. The progression for L-Sits is to bring your knees up so your thighs are perpendicular to your torso while letting your lower legs hang (see picture). Gradually build up the amount of time you can hold the progression, working your way up to straightening your legs for a full L-Sit.
Take action, try it out and let me know how you are progressing.
